90 x 90 silk scarf for Hermes Paris.
We take a peek into the goings on at number 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, where something truly mysterious is happening.
Such a thing has caused someone to leave in a hurry with the phone off the hook, knocking over a chair and losing a shoe in the panic.
The drawing has several little ‘easter eggs’ that reference the number 24. The telephone has highlights at 2 and 4, there are 24 cat paw-prints… Can you find the others?
Limited edition screen-print in collaboration with Mondo.
Made in 1902 Le Voyage dans la Lune marked the birth of science fiction cinema that broke the boundaries of what was possible with special effects influencing everything that came after it.
Melies background was as a theatre magician which shows its influence in the movie’s set designs and still camera positions that resemble a story being told on a stage.
It’s a fantastical masterpiece as anarchic as it is inventive and I dived into Melies’ world to try and grasp at some of that wonder.
Animation for Hermes China bringing my silk scarf ‘Tea for Two’ to life. Commissioned to mark International Women’s Day 2023. Animated in collaboration with Parallel Studios, Paris.
For Hermès Paris a 90 x 90 cm silk scarf in several colourways
An eccentric couple have created a huge complex machine to achieve the simplest of tasks, that of serving tea with a splash of milk.
I always loved the illustrations of W.Heath Robinson and following the tiny details of his contraptions where the chain reactions perform everyday tasks in an overly complicated way. I also spent way too much time watching Rube Goldberg inspired machines on youtube. I advise you to put the kettle on and do the same.
In collaboration with Hermès Paris this silk scarf measures 90cm x 90cm.
This work began with a reflection on the culture of the "selfie" and the efforts people put into making self-portraits for social media. It then developed in a more fantastical and absurd acrobatic pose with her companions shifting to get in on the photo.
The balance of the scene depends on each animal being in the right place. If another of those butterflies lands then the whole structure might collapse…

At a time when we could all use some much-needed lightness, drawing flying nannies was my cathartic release.

Identities for the hotel restaurant.
This was a very open brief on the theme of Decadance and Sin. They wanted characters that are eccentric and fun.
‘We want the finest wines known to humanity, we want them here and we want them now!’
This poster celebrates the amount of wine the characters quaff and is inspired by the style of a Petrus wine label where we have, rather than picturesque vineyards and a Chateaux, a scene of the two dejected characters in the mud and the rain on holiday, ‘by mistake’. There’s plenty of detail for fans of the film including an inadvisable way to cook a chicken.

24 x 36 inches.
Silence is a story set in 17th Century Japan where two missionaries, in search of their mentor, try to protect those who have turned to Christianity in a country that is torturing and killing those that support the faith.
It's an intense and heartbreaking film that is beautifully made.
This poster has a slightly different approach for me as I wanted to emulate the look of a Japanese woodcut. An exercise in style to play with technique and shake things up.
Officially licensed through Disney this is a 36 x 24 inch screenprint in a regular and variant version.
